Weston Florida homes are located near the western boundary of Broward County.  Although it began as 15,000 acres of undeveloped land, Westin FL real estate is now the proud home for over 65,000 residents.  In 2006, Money Magazine ranked Weston as the nation’s 20th Biggest Earners.  Real estate agents often describe the community amenities, 'Everything is located exactly where it should be.'

Within the borders is an 800-year-old Tequesta Indian burial mound.  In the 1950s Arthur Vining Davis, the original owner of the South Florida real estate and his development company ARVIDA, set about the task of creating financing and infrastructure for a development called Indian Trace.  The name of the ARVIDA development subsequently changed from Indian Trace to Weston.

It took 30 years before the first Weston FL homes appeared in the Windmill Ranch and Country Isles neighborhoods.  Today Westin real estate includes an array of gated communities with home values ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to over seven million dollars.

By 1991, with 5,000 eager residents, the governance of Weston began to take hold.  The City of Weston incorporated in 1996 inviting the adjacent Bonaventure community to join in.  It adopted a Commission-Manager type of government with a mayor and city manager.  Weston is now comprised of the Indian Trace and Bonaventure development districts that extend over 23.76 square miles of land and 2.52 square miles of water.

In addition to ranking high in the Biggest Earners category, the city ranked with the largest job growth in the state in 2006 and 18th largest in the U.S.A.  BusinessWeek ranked it as one of the Best Affordable Suburbs the same year.  Most recently in 2008, Money Magazine ranked the city as the 73rd Best Place to Live in America.  That makes it the Best Place to Live in Florida.

Institutions of higher learning include campuses for the American InterContinental University and Broward College.  Public schools include one high school, two middle schools, and six middle schools.  A charter school and a private school are also convenient to serve students.
